Students will learn about real plants, history, and folklore, with a little Hogwarts magic!
As a literary scholar specializing in Harry Potter and a historical interpreter specializing in the history of 18th-century medicinal plants in Appalachia, I enjoy blending those roles to appear as "Professor Sprout" at events and programs. I collect the plants used in the program, and dress as Professor Sprout, as well. In addition, I am both a Muggle college professor and a Wizarding one, as I contribute to the Hogwarts Professor blog.
Feel free to put on your House colors, wizarding robes, or Hogwarts-themed Muggle attire! No dragonhide gloves or earmuffs are required!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
