Description
Class Experience
Learners enrolled in this course will learn about the tools they’ll need to be successful, how much hemp cord to use for their bracelets, how to begin and end their bracelets, how to tie the square knots to create the appealing design, as well as how to complete the adjustable closure. There may be enough time for students to complete an entire bracelet during class. If not, they should feel confident to finish on their own. I am always available for questions before and after class, too!
I’ve been loving making hemp bracelets for fun for over 2 decades.
You can cut the hemp to the correct lengths ahead of time if you’d like! This may be good especially for younger learners if mom or dad won’t be readily available to help. They’ll need one piece cut to 10”, one piece cut to 20”, and one piece cut to 70”. Learners should feel inspired to complete their bracelet if they were unable to finish during class, and hopefully they’ll also want to create many more.
- 3 cuts of hemp: a 10” piece, a 20” piece, and a 70” piece (extra for mistakes is a good idea, & cutting them ahead of time is welcomed). - Scissors or clippers - measuring tape - A clipboard, tape, or some other way to secure the starting end so you can pull your bracelet tight in front of you. - (optional) Glue, such as fabric glue, to secure cut ends.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Younger students may need help measuring and cutting. This can be done ahead of time to keep learners from being flustered during class.
