In this one-time course, students will be guided through the process of tuning their strings using the pegs and fine tuners and using a tuning app.
Class experience
In this class, students will be guided through the process of tuning up the strings of their string instrument. The teacher will tell the learner, or help them hear and decide themselves, if the string needs to be tighter or looser, and if the peg or the fine tuner should be used. Students need to have their own violin (/viola/cello) for class and know the parts of their instrument (pegs, fine tuners, string letter names), and how to pluck or bow the strings. Students will be introduced to the physical motions of turning the pegs and using the fine tuners, and also start to hear based on the sound if the string needs to be tightened or loosened.
