Let's get to know the ancient Egyptians. What exactly is a pyramid? Who is the God Ra? Are mummies real? Did the Egyptians really invent bowling? In this Multi-Day class, students will learn six themes of the Egyptian Pyramids. Day One: Who Were the Ancient Egyptians? We will study their daily life, sports they enjoyed, and why they built the pyramids. Day Two: Egyptians worshipped 1,400 Gods. This week we will learn about seven of them: Ra, Amun, Anubis, Thoth, Osiris, Bastet, and Seth. Day Three: We will go inside a Pyramid and learn about the four chambers and what exactly was buried inside. Gold? Weapons? Day Four: Can you read Hieroglyphics? We will study this ancient language and learn how to spell our names. Day Five: We will learn about Cleopatra, King Tutankhamun, and Ramses II. What kind of Pharaohs were they? Why are they so famous? Day Six: Look out for the Mummy! We will learn all about the Mummification process. Did they really mummify their pet cats? My teaching style is high energy and I like to get each learner engaged in class. I will be presenting the material through a slide show. Learners are encouraged to ask questions and lead discussions. Please feel free to bring any Egyptian artifact or item to class to share.
