1 live meeting
35 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one-time class, students will be introduced to the famous artist Vincent Van Gogh. Following a brief summary of his life, we will examine some of his most famous pieces of art. Students will then be guided to create a night sky in the same style as the painting Starry Night. The goal of this class is to learn technique and begin a masterpiece. Since every student works at different pace, it is expected that many students will wish to continue working on their artwork beyond class time. The class is primarily lecture format but I will ask learners to collectively repeat important information (such as the artist's name) to help with memory. I will also ask the class open-ended questions about the art we look at, with answers being given on a volunteer basis. Most of the class will be guided art time, as we work together to complete a masterpiece. During that time, I will periodically check-in with each student to monitor their progress and give feedback.
