Class

What's included

1 live meeting
30 mins in-class hours
Homework
1 hour per week. If there is a request to evaluate a student’s handwriting or writing skills, students may be asked to complete some work prior to the live evaluation.
Assessment
The entire course is an assessment of student’s skills in the Modern Hebrew language. Skills are assessed using flashcards, stories, oral questions, discussion, and potentially writing assignments.

Class Experience

This class is scheduled upon request.

Does your child have prior experience with Hebrew, and you aren’t sure which class to sign-up for? This one-time evaluation allows me to assess a student’s prior knowledge in one or more areas of Hebrew. At the end of the evaluation, parents will be provided with both a verbal assessment of the student’s skills and a recommendation for appropriate class placement. Parents can request a written assessment ahead of time if needed.

Please note the following:

*Parents should be available during the evaluation to help answer questions about prior experience, goals for the student, and to receive the verbal assessment.

*Evaluations vary in length and can be slightly shorter or longer than the scheduled time depending on how many skills need to be assessed and the number of questions the student or parent may have.

*Students must be enrolled in the evaluation class at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled meeting. If this is not the case, the slot can no longer be guaranteed. Parents who miss this window can reach out to see if the slot is still available or to reschedule for another mutually convenient time.

*Evaluations will be started at a specific level based on parent feedback and shifted to cover easier or more advanced material based on performance.

*Hebrew writing (i.e. handwriting skills in print or script) are not automatically evaluated. Parents interested in having their student's handwriting evaluated should request this ahead of time.

*The cost of this class will be offered as a credit to any student who enrolls in one of my classes or private lessons with me within 3 months of the evaluation.
Learning Goals
Students (and parents) will be provided with a verbal and written assessment of the student’s skills based on their performance during the evaluation. A recommendation for class placement will also be provided.
