Students will learn by looking at artwork by the artist, teacher demonstration, and independent work time. Students will check in with the teacher after the demonstration to ensure understanding. The teacher will check in with each students as they progress through the lesson. This lesson will cover Elements of Art ( line, pattern, and color) and artist Heather Galler. Students will walk away with a better understanding how to implement elements of art to create folk art.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of color and patten. Students will be introduced to the Heather Galler and receive some background information about the artist. Lastly, students will increase their drawing abilities using the folk art style.

A color material such as colored pencils or markers, pencil, white paper.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
