Heart to Heart - Girl's Chat Social Club
What's included
1 live meeting
45 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
In this ongoing weekly class, friends will meet to hang out, talk, and have a great time together! We'll start each session by allowing every girl to introduce herself and share what is "on her heart": whether it be a success from the week, a struggle she faced, or just something funny that happened. Students will not be required to share, only given the opportunity if they feel comfortable enough to do so. This activity may lead to other discussion as the rest of the group supports each other or congratulates when friends share good news. Once everyone has had the chance to speak, we will get to know each other a little better by participating in a short "getting to know you" activity such as: discussion questions, creative problem solving scenarios, drawing or sketching together, playing a quick game, etc... The girls will laugh and bond over these fun, lighthearted (and sometimes silly) activities! Sometimes, these activities will include a printable pdf that I will post in the classroom. Students may choose to use this printable, use plain paper (if printing is not an option), or share their ideas/answers verbally with the class. With the remaining time, students will discuss the things that interest them! Everyone is free to talk about topics like: pets, make-up, books, movies, school, hobbies.... anything the girls want to chat about. If there are 5 students or more in the class, I may split the group into 2 breakout rooms. These smaller groups allow for more interaction between the girls. Any time I use breakout rooms, I utilize a second device that allows me to be present in both rooms at the same time. It is extremely important to me that your learner feels included, safe, and happy! Here are the dates with the "getting to know you" activity for that week: Week of August 30th- Tales of our Summer Break! Week of September 6th- Figdets and Slime! Week of September 13th- Design a cool school outfit! Week of September 20th- Favorite Book Recommendations! Week of September 27th- Draw a Fall Scene! Learning Goals
Students will listen to others as they speak and show kindness and respect towards others in the group as they share their opinions and feelings (some of which my be different from theirs). Students who tend to be shy may begin to open up and develop confidence in themselves as they share with our group. Students will have fun and develop trust in new friends!
