Heart of the Story - Anime Discussion Class
Class experience
Anime is an ever-expanding genre that is likely taking over your tv screens. Once simply a way to categorize Japanese cartoons, "anime" has now defined itself with its own unique style and tone that inspires and influences artists all around the world. But not anime is made equal and in this anime discussion class, we're going to dive a bit deeper into the intentions of our favorite animes. We'll talk about what makes them great as well as the stereotypes and hazardous archetypes that also...
Along with your general communication building, I'm secretly also trying to develop leadership and active listening skills. Activities and Themes are designed to help learners become more aware of subtext, whether in a show we watch or in a story someone shares. Opinions on anime will vary and this is a perfect opportunity for Learners to gain the skills talking through those differences of opinions.
If we're being honest anyone can "teach" a discussion class about tv shows. I am, however, specifically qualified to talk about tv shows in a way to help people better understand life. As a professional writer, it's been my job to write content to create an emotional reaction or teach some kind of lesson. As an educator in Communication and EI Development, it's always my goal to assist others in building a better emotional foundation with things that resonate with them. Add these two things together and I'm an ideal candidate in using someone's favorite show to help them understand the world they currently exist in without it being the point.
Since this is an anime discussion class animes need to be able to be watched. Luckily most animes can be found on many different streaming platforms like Hulu, Netflix, Crunchyroll, and other streaming sites. Even if Learners can't access full series there are a plethora of clips and deep dives of all popular animes on Youtube that will also serve for the sake of having a conversation.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Anime is a wide genre of content with many shows that range from fun and innocent to horrifically violent and sexual. A list of anime will be provided after the first class and parents will be responsible of looking over the list and bring any concerns with me as soon as possible. I will do my best to accommodate but this is the nature of anime.
Hi, and welcome to my page. Here you'll find classes geared towards storytelling and Emotional Intelligence Development, which I've learned pretty much go hand in hand. I've been a writer all my life. It's been the tool that's helped me...
