In each of these 7 holiday-themed interactive cooking classes, students will gain the experience of preparing a recipe from scratch using fresh, organic, raw, and whole food ingredients to create heavenly-tasting Christmas treats that are healthier than regular recipes… and MUCH healthier than store-bought cookies! As we prepare each recipe together, students will learn many general baking tips as well as healthy cooking secrets. They will also learn how to substitute healthy ingredients into other favorite desserts and recipes, and why it is so important to do so. While their cookies are baking, students will participate in a variety of special Christmas activities, making this a great way to spend your pre-Christmas vacation! This class is Day 5 of the series “The Seven Days of Christmas Baking.” The complete series is available in a Multi-Day format, if you want to take all 7 classes at a reduced price. Pictures and descriptions of all 7 recipes can be found in the class video. The 7-day series includes: Day 1 – Snickerdoodles (“Twelve Days of Christmas” story) Day 2 – Peanut Butter Kisses (Christmas scavenger hunt) Day 3 – Santa’s Favorite Cookies (The Story of St. Nicholas) Day 4 – Shortbread Shapes (Christmas Trivia) Day 5 – Fruit Thumbprints (Christmas Basta) Day 6 – Candy Cane Twists (The Legend of the Candy Cane) Day 7 – Christmas Mint Cookies (Recreate the 12 Days song) On Day 5, learners will make adorable, little Fruit Thumbprint cookies, so cute they look like more like decorations than dessert! Made with real fruit, whole wheat flour, and oat flour, they are high in vitamins, fiber, and protein and low in gluten. Choose your own fruit preserves or real fruit spreads to top off these adorable little cookies with the flavors you love. While their cookies are baking, learners will participate in a Christmas variation of a popular Mexican game – fast-paced and fun, everyone loves playing Basta! The list of ingredients can be found in the Supply List below, and exact amounts will be given in the welcome post. Please note that classes will be APPROXIMATELY 60 minutes but may vary by +/- 5 to 10 minutes depending on the number of enrolled learners and how long it takes them to complete their recipes and activities. This series also comes with a built-in Christmas present for all learners completing four (4) or more recipes – free classes! A refund of one class ($15) will be issued to each learner after completing their 4th, 6th, and 7th classes in this series, bringing your cost down to as low as $8.50 per class! Merry Christmas and happy, healthy baking to you!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Education from Pensacola Christian College
Growing up, everyone in my family was sick, all the time. We tried dozens of methods to get healthy - conventional medicine, alternative medicine, vitamins and supplements, even a couple "miracle cures" that weren't so miraculous. After years of experimentation, we finally discovered that our diet was the culprit and that eating healthier was the solution! My mother later published a book on the subject, and I became passionate about teaching others how to cook healthier and "let your food be your medicine." The goal of my Healthy 'n' Heavenly Treats interactive cooking classes is to share healthy culinary secrets with others and dispel the myth that healthy foods and heavenly treats are mutually exclusive... especially at Christmas time!
