Students are encouraged to be mindful of their day to day choices and to strive toward a healthy lifestyle.Class Experience
This is a flexible schedule class. It does not meet live. This class can be as interactive as you like! Students will have a chance to share comments and questions via the classroom and Nearpod. The class schedule is as follows: Each week there will be: 1. Exercise video lesson of the teacher doing exercises that students may follow along with. 2. Video lesson with the teacher showing step by step how to make a healthy smoothie, students can follow along with and make their own smoothie. 3. An interactive Nearpod interactive board for students to make their own responses highlighting something that they are proud of from the week. The Nearpod lesson will also contain a Virtual Field Trip to a peaceful place and interactive lessons on aspects of a healthy lifestyle. 4. Daily printable journal entries will be posted to classroom. Students can put all entries together to form a class journal. Journal entries can be shared to the classroom. *Students will be using a blender. Blenders contain sharp blades and it is advised that adults assist with the smoothie making process to avoid injury. *For the exercise routines, students need to wear proper fitting fitness shoes/sneakers. They will need a soft mat for floor exercises and a water bottle. We will be doing warm up stretches before each exercise activity. We will also be doing a Cool Down and Stretch after each exercise routine. The exercises will be led step by step and students are encouraged to stop for water breaks whenever needed. Students are also encouraged to listen to their bodies during the exercises and break whenever needed. The exercises are beginner exercises that challenge in a gentle yet effective way. Week One: 1. 30 minutes standing Pilates exercises performed by instructor via video. Instructor will go through each exercise step by step with water breaks. 2. Razzle Dazzle Smoothie...instructor will provide video lesson on making a Razzle Dazzle Smoothie 3. Nearpod lesson is on exercising as part of a healthy lifestyle. Students can comment on the interactive board, stating something they they are proud of or a positive experience they had during the week. This board is shared with teacher and other students. 4. Monday through Friday printable journal entries will post daily by 8 a.m. EST 5. The classroom is a place for students to share messages, questions and comments. We can talk back and forth via messages in the classroom if students choose to do so. Week Two: 1. 30 minute Body Weight Strength Exercises with water breaks...teacher will provide step by step instruction for body-weight exercises via video. No equipment is needed. 2. Mango Tango Smoothie: instructor will provide a video of instructor creating a Mango Tango Smoothie that students can follow along to. 3. Nearpod lesson is on breathing, mindfulness, and meditation...students can comment on the interactive board, stating something they they are proud of or a positive experience they had during the week. This board is shared with teacher and other students. 4. Daily printable journal entry. 5. Classroom interaction if desired. Week Three: 1. 30 minute Let's get Flexible Stretching and Flexibility Workout 2. Super Silly Strawberry Smoothie 3. Nearpod Lesson is on emotions and incorporating mindfulness into our lives. ...students can comment on the interactive board, stating something they they are proud of or a positive experience they had during the week. This board is shared with teacher and other students. 4. Daily printable journal. 5. Sharing questions and comments to the classroom. Week Four: 1. 30 minute Pilates Floor exercises 2. Triple Berry Yum Smoothie 3. Nearpod lesson is on happiness, stress, and your health. ...students can comment on the interactive board, stating something they they are proud of or a positive experience they had during the week and reflections. This board is shared with teacher and other students. 4. Printable Journal Entry 5. Classroom sharing of comments, questions, ideas.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding a healthy lifestyle and how the choices they make can impact their own health and well-being.
Students will have lessons about healthy exercises, breathing, mindfulness, meditation, emotions, and incorporating mindfulness into their every day lives. Students will learn how to express what they feel by creating a journal.

Parental Guidance
Adult assistance for the smoothie making is requested. Blenders contain sharp blades. To avoid injury I request assistance.
Supply List
Students will need a blender to make the smoothies. Blenders have sharp blades and students may need assistance using the blender to avoid injury. Students will need a cup or glass to pour smoothie into.
