Class

Class experience

US Grade 2 - 5
Beginner Level
This class is taught in English.
Students will learn about healthy ingredients, complimentary flavor profiles, and sustainability in the kitchen and cooking process. Students will also reflect on the act of giving generously and what it means for our relationships, especially in the holiday season.
As the owner of my own cooking/meal prep business, I have experience creating new, healthy recipes to share with others.
Kitchen appliances:
- High speed blender OR food processor
- spatula
- bowl
- spoon
- jar for storage

Ingredients:
Any variety of the following that you already have in your kitchen/pantry or would like to buy from the grocery store, but not ALL are neccessary!
- almonds
- peanuts
- walnuts
- cashews
- pistachio
- pecans
- vanilla
- honey
- maple syrup
- dates
- cocoa powder
- cinnamon
- nutmeg
- cloves
- coconut
- flax seeds
- chia seeds
- hemp seeds
Anything else they might want to add for flavor! Ingredients should be displayed as options for them, but they are not expected to use everything.

For packaging:
- string or twine
- paper, notecards, or construction paper
- pens or markers
We will be using a high-speed blender or food processor, so some parental guidance with using the appliances (sharp blades) is suggested.

Also, this recipe is based around creating a nut butter, so if a student has nut allergies they can still participate, the parent will just need to provide allergen-free ingredient substitutes.
