In this one-time course, students will learn the fundamentals of what it means to be healthy, and how we can make or change our habits to promote a healthy lifestyle in regards to nutrition, exercise and fitness, and sleep. By the end of this course, students will be able to identify how to create a healthy meal based on nutritional guidelines from the USDA. We will cover the following: --Nutrition Basics: Carbohydrates, Fats, Proteins --Exercise/Fitness/Sports --Importance of Sleep --How Much Water Do We Need Everyday? In my classes, I am a very interactive teacher. This is not a lecture-style class; rather, it is a discussion for and with all students, using new knowledge they will learn in the class, in addition to being able to teach the class what they know as well. Students should come to class ready to participate in the discussions.
