Class Experience

Have you ever heard of the saying 'You are what you eat"?

I am a firm believer that when we put good and nutritious food in our bodies, it gives us the right fuel and energy to lead a healthy life. In this class, we will be preparing amazing and healthy snacks that I feel like I can eat over and over again, which are Chia Pudding Parfaits! Chia seeds are packed with protein, fiber and Omega 3s so this is a great snack to get all the different nutrients we need in a day. Students will learn to make one different Chia Pudding Parfait each week. Students can decide how many they would like to prepare for the week. In just 30 minutes a week, it will help us practice how to create a healthy eating routine.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
1. Please let me know if learner has any food allergies or sensitivities. Alternatives can also be giving upon request. 2. There are times when students will need to use a small knife to prepare fruits such as cutting them up in small pieces. If learner is new to using a knife, please have parental assistance. I will be teaching them through live demonstration where all students must watch before attempting to do it on their own. Also, parents are also free to cut up fruits before class so that student is only responsible for arranging the fruit on top and making the fruit purees.
Supply List
1. Students will be given an ingredient list at the start of the week to ensure that there is enough time to purchase necessary ingredients for class.

2. We will make a different fruit puree together every week. Students can choose a different option on how they want to puree their fruit. You can use a blender to puree fruits or if you don't own a blender, you can mash fruit with a mortar and pestle, or even using a fork to mash up fruit!

3. Please have a few mason jars ready to make the Chia Pudding and ready to store in the fridge to set.

Ingredients we will use every week:
- Chia seeds
- Vanilla extract
- A dash of salt
- Sweetener of choice (honey, maple syrup, etc.)
- Choice of Milk (soy, almond, cashew, lactose-free, whole milk, etc.)

Teacher expertise and credentials
Greetings everyone and welcome to my page!

My name is Mindy and i'm very happy you found me here on Outschool!

I have been a teacher for 12 years now and here's a secret, I wasn't always the most attentive learner when I was studying in school. I had a hard time paying attention in class but I had so many wonderful and kind teachers that helped me along the way. They made learning fun for me and now, I hope that I can be that teacher for you! I believe that every single person has a unique talent and my mission is to help you find it.

You can expect to have an enjoyable learning experience with me because we will make new and exciting creations in class. I will be teaching fun classes such as 'How to make a summer smoothie' or 'Make simple lunches/dinners when your parents are out'. I would also love to offer a class where students get an opportunity to bring their pets to class. I've had my own business for about 5 years now and I would love to teach life skills, such as 'How to interview for your first job' or 'How to execute small business ideas'.

I would like to thank you all for taking my classes and i'm sure we are going to have a blast together! See you all real soon!
