Discussing periods and puberty are not the top activity on anyone’s list but staying healthy and well are important. I strive to be down to Earth and provide a comfortable environment for learning reliable facts while addressing any questions or concerns related to the traditional female body. I am now changing this to a one-to-one class as students have been very shy, and don't want to ask questions as is, but they usually feel comfortable with me after a few minutes, but they don't like...
Learners will know about the traditional female body, including parts and the proper name for them. Learners will know a little bit about other cultures and how there are different views than the general North American view.
I am a woman myself, and I am educated about my body. I have three children, one of which is a daughter. I have explained things to her and a few of her friends. I went to nursing school, and although I did not complete it due to health reasons, I did have a very involved Anatomy and Physiology class, I and II. There is a lot of what I consider to be common knowledge as an adult female. I have had and managed a period for the last 37 years. I have always read articles on the male and female bodies, and other topics related because I believe knowing your body is important. So sources I do not remember what they were per title, but in the sources section, I will list what I do remember.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
