Students will learn about three types of verbs; action verbs, verbs of being, and helping verbs. We will complete a "Mad Libs" version of a couple songs in which students choose action verbs to complete the passage. A visual representation explaining the three types of verbs is provided, along with three poems by Shel Silverstein will also be discussed.. We will locate the verbs in each poem, identify the types of verbs, and students will write these verbs in the correct place. There is no homework assigned. Student evaluation will occur through student response during class.
