US Grade 3 - 5
In this lesson students will be eager to participate in engaging games and activities that will make learning about homophones fun! This class offers a simple introduction or refresher course in homophones, words that are pronounced the same, but spell and mean differently. Students will learn the definition, recognize and give examples of homophones. They will also practice using homophones with some fun games including Homophone Pictionary. The students will also create their own comic strip using homophones. All of this helping the students retain information better through a process that is enjoyable and memorable. Students will have the opportunity to interact with classmates as they play games and join in the class discussion. This class will be taught in a very fun, engaging group discussion setting.

Students will learn the definition, recognize and give examples of homophones. Students will also be able to use them correctly.

Hello! I’m Teacher Sheila.
I’ve been teaching both children and adults for over 20 years.
I have a Bachelors Degree in education, I’m TESOL certified and I’m homeschool certified as well.
I am currently teaching English online to children in China. I also offer classes in Common Core subjects Online in the US as well.
I have home schooled all five of my children, 4 have graduated 12th grade and I’m currently working with my last kid who will be starting High School this year.
I am so very passionate about teaching that I even spend much of my free time in volunteer work teaching others. My goal is to instill in my students a lifelong love of learning.
In fact I believe in learning so much that I am always involved continuing education myself, whether it be in foreign language, improving my teaching techniques and even weekly public speaking classes.
I believe I have a LOT to bring to the classroom and I’m EXCITED to begin on this journey in learning with you! I hope to see YOU in my classroom soon!
