In this class, students will learn about idioms, write their own sentences with idiomatic phrases, and illustrate them.

US Grade 1 - 4
Students will learn about idioms, what they are and how they are used in sentences, their meanings, and how we can use them in everyday speech and writing to intensify the feeling of a situation or event ..to bring a level of understanding that can almost be felt threw the senses. ("I was tickled pink.") The first 30 minutes will be open discussion about idioms, along with various examples, including their literal and figurative meanings and illustrations. The last 30 minutes will be the...Students will be able to learn about and successfully illustrate idioms (specifically colorful idioms, i.e., 'tickled pink,' 'out of the blue' etc.) in order to enrich language, understand figurative language better/the nuances of English language to enhance conversational speaking and writing.
Students will need a pencil, paper (preferably unlined) and colored pencils or crayons.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
