The class will begin by discussing courage. We will read Spaghetti in a Hot Dog Bun by Maria Dismondy. Students will create a selfie sculpture using items of importance around their house. Students will share what items they used and explain their significance. Students will will be encouraged to embrace what makes them unique!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Mrs. Ransom is a K-5 Gifted & Talented teacher in Texas. She has a passion for musical theater and sparking creativity in students.
She is currently the musical director at her school. Her students would tell you she has a song for everything.
Mrs. Ransom has been in education for 15 years. Prior to teaching G/T, she was a Literacy Specialist, a 2nd grade teacher, and a 1st grade teacher.
She encourages her students to think past their first ideas, to come up with unique, awe inspiring, ideas and solutions.
Students learn best through laughter and smiles. The best moments in teaching come when a student realizes they CAN!
