Class Experience
Although it's a long way from "5 Nights at Freddy's," Edgar Allan Poe is just as fun and horror-filled. We will read Edgar Allen Poe's poem, "The Raven" together as a class. In our first session we will explore unfamiliar vocabulary, read the poem together, and look at the many allusions in the poem. Students will gain familiarity with the poem, "The Raven," the life of Edgar Allan Poe, its themes, and poetic elements.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This poem is dark and melancholy as was Poe's life. However, nothing explicit or truly horrifying is covered in the class.
