I am an early childhood and primary teacher. I have also owned and operated a successful science education company that worked in schools, youth groups and kindergartens to bring science experiences to classes.
Learners will need their digital portfolio (bookcreator.com). Learners can access book creator with a google account or I can create an account for them. Session 2: Experiment - learners will need an egg and a bowl/ plate to crack egg onto. (Egg will need to be cracked during the experiment so some learners may need assistance. Session 4: Experiment - learners will need an egg, jar, cup or bowl and vinegar (bowl will be used for at least 72 hours)
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
This class deals with live animals and as such can be unpredictable. It is possible that not all eggs will hatch and some chickens may not survive. It is an exhausting process that can take up to 24 hours hatching out of an egg and only the strongest chickens will survive. We will also be handling eggs so keep allergies in mind. Students can participate through watching the screen if necessary.
