Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will improve their understanding of story elements such as plot, setting, character development, conflict and resolution, imagery, and theme.
I currently teach 7th and 8th grade Reading and English Language Arts. This is my favorite book and love teaching this literature unit!
Learners will be reading about 30-45 minutes per week outside of class.
Each student will need a copy, either digital or in print, of the novel Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. I will be suppying all other resources needed.
There will be ongoing informal assessments thoughout the course, mainly through group discussion.
1 hour 50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parent involvement and supervision is recommended as this book has some sensitive issues including death, divorce, and a child being on an island challenged to survive on his own.
