- Students will be able to discuss the chapters they have read and answer comprehension questions about it.
- Students will be able to demonstrate understanding of prediction, visualization, setting, character traits, perspective, figurative language, summarization, point of view, character development, and plot.
I am a certified Elementary K-6 Teacher and have been teaching for the last ten years. I have my Reading Endorsement for K-12 and my ESOL endorsement. I have also done training for teaching ESE students.

There will also be short assignments to complete with each chapter before our meeting so that students will be prepared to discuss what they have read with the group.Assessment
Frequency: Available upon requestDetails: At the end of the course, students will be given a Task Choice Board (pdf) and they will select one culminating task to complete about the novel. This will be done outside of class meetings. All students will be required to complete a task from the Choice Board.
Students need to be able to read texts fluently on their own at a minimum of a 3rd grade level.
