Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 9
Each week learners will read from books that would be found in the Hogwarts school library. The first book is "Quidditch Through the Ages." This book includes information about the rules of quidditch and different moves to do in quidditch. Anyone who is a fan of quidditch or just the Harry Potter world will enjoy the reading. The second book is "Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them." This book was on Harry's reading list in his first year. The book is a glossary of different creatures within the Harry Potter universe. Learn about different animals and how to care for them in this book. We will talk about the different animals and which ones are our favorite. The last book is "The Tales of Beedle the Bard." This book is a collection of short stories that are similar to fairy tales. There is one story that might not be suitable for the younger readers. The story has a scene that has a man cutting out a woman's heart and licking it before cutting out his own heart. Parents might want to read it first.

 Here is a weekly breakdown:

Week 2: Learners will come to class prepared by having read "Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them." We will discuss the book and which animals are our favorite. I will have a list of discussion questions to start a dialogue about the book.
