This one-time class is an introduction to analyzing characters in the Harry Potter universe. In this class, we will talk about our favorite characters from the book series. We will discuss how characters change throughout the series.

In this introductory course, we will discuss our favorite and least favorite characters. We will discuss character development and evolution throughout the series. Finally, students will create their own character. They will draw or write a paragraph describing a new character that could live in the Harry Potter world. Students should have a general knowledge of the Harry Potter series and storyline. They should come to class able to describe their favorite and least favorite characters from...
Students will learn how to identify character traits. They will be able to determine how a character changes over time. Students will learn how to create an effective character within a specific setting.
There will be no homework for this class.
Students should have a notebook with lined paper, a blank white page and a pencil. Coloring in the picture is optional.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
At the end of class, students will draw or write a paragraph describing their character. They will present their character and explain how they fit in the Harry Potter universe.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
