We will be diving head first into the first book of the Harry Potter Series, called "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone"! This 7 week book club will help to instill a love of reading in the students who attend this course. We will read and discuss this book together at length in a group setting, helping to build your student's reading and writing, reading comprehension, group discussion, and critical thinking skills. In class, we will go over what the children read in the week...
Chapter readings will be assigned weekly, as well as individual journal topics. The average homework assignment will be for the student to read one to two chapters a weeks. Journal topics will typically require around three paragraphs of 3 to 4 sentences each.
A copy of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" is required for this course. You can find the physical copy of this book for around 7 dollars at Walmart or on Amazon. Pencil and paper, or access to a computer are needed to record journal entries.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
A digital or physical copy of the book, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" is required for this course.
