Students will be expected to read 2 chapters a week until we finish the book. I will also ask students to write down words they do not know the meaning of as they read.Class Experience
US Grade 3 - 6
This book takes students on an exciting adventure. Students will read 2 chapters per week and will meet with the class after they have finished reading, once per week. Students will be asked questions to help with reading comprehension. They will also be presented with a lot of vocabulary words that we will discuss as a class. Students will be asked to explain the chapters from different points of view. What one character thinks may be completely different from another. My experience is from reading the books myself. Students will be asked to bring pencil and paper to each class to write down vocabulary works as well as separate understanding from different character points of view. I am so excited to start this class. Students will be taught vocabulary and reading comprehension. I will talk to the children about the book and we will discuss the chapters we have read. I value discussion as an important part of learning. Students need no prior knowledge of this subject to do well in this class. Week #1 Introduction to class / Discussion of Chapter 1.
