In this 9 week course, students will discuss Harry Potter Book #1. Students will answer questions about the book in detail and work on reading comprehension. They will also work on learning new vocabulary words.

Class Experience
This book takes students on an exciting adventure. Students will read 2 chapters per week and will meet with the class after they have finished reading, once per week. Students will be asked questions to help with reading comprehension. They will also be presented with a lot of vocabulary words that we will discuss as a class. Students will be asked to explain the chapters from different points of view. What one character thinks may be completely different from another. My experience is from...

Students will learn all about the book as well as different ways to view and comprehend a book. Students will learn new unfamiliar vocabulary words.

Students will be expected to read 2 chapters a week until we finish the book. I will also ask students to write down words they do not know the meaning of as they read.
Paper Pencil Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by JK Rowlings
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parents should look up Harry Potter and know what their children will be reading about before signing up.
