Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling will be discussed/taught with a fun read aloud session during our classes using the interactive picture book edition! Students will be asked to read 1-2 chapters each week which varies in pages then update their reading logs through Google Drive/Docs. As a class we will read one chapter or most of a chapter (to be finished for homework) during class time and reviewing our reading logs. Class time will happen typically with this schedule...

Students will improve their comprehension and analyzation skills through practicing each week with a teacher, individually and with peers.
Certified Elementary Education Teacher with experience running book clubs with all ages.
Students will read 1-2 chapters each week individually then as a class we will read one chapter together, which may be asked to finish as homework as well. AND update their reading logs by: adding more characters, new words, predictions, updating reading time, etc.
Students will need access to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone either the paperback copy, Audible version of the book, picture book, etc. They will also need access to Google Drive/Google Docs - where we will be filling out our reading log during class and for homework.
1 hour 15 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Scary or violent topics may be discussed with Harry Potter such as themes of death, murder and magic. Tools might be used by students such as: Youtube, Kahoot, Quizlet, and google classroom/docs/slides. I will be screen sharing my presentation that will allow these tools to be used during class and will be reading the book on Kindle with the picture book edition.
