Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Book Club With Miss Robyn
What's included
4 live meetings
3 in-class hoursClass Experience
**** Chapters 1-5 must be read before the first club meeting.**** In this 2 week book club, we will be reading and discussing the delightful book Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling. Each week your child will be assigned a set number of chapters to read before our club meeting so that we can have a discussion and not just a lecture. We will be discussing the assigned chapters for each week, so if your child does not complete the reading there will be spoilers in class about the story. To help with reading comprehension, we will discuss literary elements such as plot, characters, and setting. I may use visual graphics in class such as Google slideshows, photos, or video clips to help the kids visualize a concept from the story. For example, we may view a map of London so they can see where King's Cross station is located. Each club meeting, we will do an activity that is related to the chapters we have discussed. A pdf of the activity supplies will be in the classroom. If you have any questions regarding the class, please send me a message. ****All learners must be enrolled in the class in order to be fair to all the other enrolled learners.**** Here is the meeting schedule: Week 1 Meeting 1 Chapters 1-5 must be read before the first class meeting so that we can begin our book discussion.
