5 lessons//5 Weeks
Week 1Lesson 1Chapters 1 - 4Learners will read chapters 1-4 of the book. There will be a 10 question worksheet about the chapters. There will be a "Would You Rather" question for each chapter. Once the learner has read all the weekly chapters, they can test their knowledge with the weekly blooket trivia game.Week 2Lesson 2Chapters 5 - 8Learners will read chapters 5-8 of the book. There will be a 10 question worksheet about the chapters. There will be a "Would You Rather" question for each chapter. Once the learner has read all the weekly chapters, they can test their knowledge with the weekly blooket trivia game.Week 3Lesson 3Chapters 9 - 11Learners will read chapters 9-11 of the book. There will be a 10 question worksheet about the chapters. There will be a "Would You Rather" question for each chapter. Once the learner has read all the weekly chapters, they can test their knowledge with the weekly blooket trivia game.Week 4Lesson 4Chapters 12 - 14Learners will read chapters 12-14 of the book. There will be a 10 question worksheet about the chapters. There will be a "Would You Rather" question for each chapter. Once the learner has read all the weekly chapters, they can test their knowledge with the weekly blooket trivia game.Week 5Lesson 5Chapters 15 - 17Leaners will read chapters 15-17 and watch the film "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" then compare it to the book. There is a 10 question worksheet about the differences between the book and movie. Learners will post at least one difference they notice. The final blooket game will test if events came from the book or the movie.
The leaner will complete class having read "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." They will be able to compare the book to the movie. They will also be able to answer questions about the characters and their own personal quest.
Homework Offered
Each week there will be a 10 question fill in the blank worksheet. The worksheets I made using Canva and you don’t need an account to access the worksheets. During the week there is a fun blooket game. The questions will be based on the week’s chapters. A free blooket account is necessary to participate in the game. If you have any problems creating an account, I can help you get set up. Watch the movie "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" after reading the entire book.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class

During the self paced class, we will be using the platform Blooket. Blooket is a fun game that ask learners trivia questions and the learners earn coins to spend on upgrading their character. The trivia questions are used to test their reading comprehension. Blooket is free but learners can play as a guest to participate. You can sign up for an account at: https://www.blooket.com/
