In this class, students will read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, discuss the book with friends and learn important ELA skills.

Class experience

US Grade 5 - 8
Students will improve their critical reading skills, specifically focusing on personification, hyperbole, order of events, problem and solution, using context clues, comparing and contrasting, and similes ad metaphors. 
Homework Offered
Students will read 3 chapters of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire per week and will complete a short assignment. The reading and assignment should take about 2-2.5 hours per week.
2 - 4 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Learners will be assessed informally, through weekly teacher feedback on assignments.
Grades Offered
Learners will need a copy of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling. 
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Harry Potter does contain themes of good vs evil and could be scary for more sensitive learners.

Students will be provided with links to Google Forms for their homework assignments. Learners do not need a Google account to fill out the form. If you would prefer to have your learner not use Google Forms, please send me a message and we can work out another way for them to complete the assignments.
