In this one time class, the students will listen to some New Year's Poems and talk about the new year and create a paper plate New Year 2024 crown.

Beginner Level
The students will listen to some NEW YEAR poems. The students will be encouraged to discuss the poems along the way. The students will then use their listening skills and creativity to make a teacher directed crown. They will use their fine motor skills to fold and cut and color to create a fancy paper plate crown. They will use their creative skills to create patterning to decorate the crown with markers, colored pencils, crayons or stickers. If the students feel comfortable, they will...
~Students will use listening skills to listen to New Year's Poems. ~Students will use fine motor skills to use scissors to cut lines in a paper plate. ~Students will use creative skills to decorate their crown. ~Students will use listening skills to follow directions when they create a teacher directed crown. ~Students will use math skills to create patterns on the crown. ~Students will use social skills to interact with other students.
~2 or 3 (in case they need to try it again!) cheap, flimsy/thin paper plates ~scissors ~crayons, colored pencils, or markers ~Glue ~Some glitter, glitter sticks, cotton balls, pom poms, gems or stickers to add to their crown (not necessary)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
