Class Experience
Happy Birthday, Maryland! This state turns 234 years old on April 28th. To celebrate, we will briefly explore what makes this state great. Students will learn about Maryland's capital, age and birthday, nickname, motto, and state bird/mammal/flower. Together, we will also briefly explore the symbolism of the state's seal and flag. 25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will be learning the state's nickname and motto, which are found on Maryland's official website. We will also be learning about the state mammal, flower, and bird which can be found in the same place. We will color in the state flag, also found on the state website. We will listen to 5 interesting fun facts created by the academic Youtube channel, Studies Weekly, and listening to the official state song with the DN Anthems Youtube channel.
