Happy Birthday Dax! On February 15th, come join the fun with a science experiment and singing happy birthday. Come celebrate Dax's birthday with me and learn through an exciting hands on experiment! There will be no assignments, no PowerPoint, no stress and ONLY fun. Learners may take notes to do the experiment later or have the materials to do it along with me, but it is not necessary. Supplies are listed in the learner supply list below (lemonade fizz). We will go over acids and bases for this experiment. What is a base/acid? What happens when they are combined? If learners have anything special to share about science or science related they may do so.

Lemonade Fizz: Lemon, cup, water, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, some sugar to make it sweet!

Hello! I'm Miss Jasmin, a Site Director at YMCA and we do so much activities everyday. Activities include Music & Drama, Science, Art and so much more! I'm also an author of a children's book, "Lilly, The Little Scientist & Germs. I hold a B.S. in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University, TESOL and a Lay Health Promotor certificate. A TESOL certificate allows me to teach students English as a second language. As a Lay Health Promotor, I have the basic knowledge of health, diseases and self care.
My goal is to ensure that your kid(s) learn in my classroom. To allow every student to understand and learn better, I utilize TPR (Total Physical Response) and props if needed. Working 10+ years with children I've learned the best way to teach a classroom is to be fun and interactive. Children will participate and collaborate more if they are engaged.
Because of my experience I've learned to make any cirriculum really fun! I love when students laugh and have fun with me. I know that learners are actually paying attention and understanding the material.
