In this one-time class, we will celebrate California's birthday by learning about it's symbols and statehood story.
Class experience
Happy Birthday, California! This state turns 172 years old on September 9th. (We are celebrating on Thurs, 9/8 because I will be out of town on 9/9.) To celebrate, we will briefly explore what makes this state great. Students will learn about California's capital, age and birthday, nickname, motto, flag, and state bird/mammal/flower. We will also listen to California's state song and briefly learn about it's road to statehood. Class Expectations: I love participation and I love activity....
Students will be able to identify the state's symbols, nicknames, and motto.
