Class experience
US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Read alouds are a great way for students to hone their own reading skills while sharing their experiences and ideas. In this ongoing class, students will gather three times each week for a different picture book read aloud. Read alouds are a great way for students of various reading levels to practice reading skills together. Students will practice listening and conversation skills as well as reading concepts including, but not limited to, inferring, predicting, and summarizing. Read alouds build vocabulary, improve comprehension, and build attention span. They also help students improve fluency and expression in their own reading. Students benefit from read alouds in so many ways, it's impossible to list them all here.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Students will listen as I read; they will not be practicing reading aloud themselves. Rather, they will practice the other skills I mentioned in the description and their own reading both aloud and silently will improve by hearing me model.
I believe that children are the world's best learners! When they are motivated by a genuine interest in something, they are super focused and there is no stopping them. My classes are student centered and, therefore, build on each student's...
