Homework
I suggest practicing your handwriting daily to get the "flow" of the signature you are trying to create. You want it to be effortless and something you can easily write again and again with the same look and results. The more you practice the better it will get (and the faster you will be able to write).Class Experience
As a classroom teacher, one of my first class assignments was teaching a combined 2nd/3rd Grade Classroom with another teacher. I learned her methods of teaching Handwriting / Cursive letters and saw how proud the students were to show off their work. Now, as a DMV employee (Secretary of State), I see students ages 15-18 that struggle to sign the signature line. This class will help those students that want to create their unique signature. This is a FLEX class (no teacher will be present). Video lessons will be provided during the week. 4 total videos. Students will watch a video explaining the work for the week. Different cursive styles will be introduced to the students so they can select the style that best fits their unique personalities. Practice warmups will be provided weekly to help get a feel for how letters connect and flow. Students will get the opportunity to practice writing their names in cursive styles. Video 1: What is a Signature? Why is it important? Identifying signatures, letter styles, and print. Video 2: Letter Warmups and Practice tailored to each student Video 3: Variations of cursive writing and how to tailor it to you Video 4: Explore and practice your signature The Video Series can be completed at your own pace.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to create a signature that is unique and as special as they are.
