Description

Class Experience

Your child will be learning letter names and sounds by using many Kinesthetic activities. They will also be learning shapes, numbers, songs, and colors. I will be teaching them what they need to know to be Kindergarten ready.
I have been trained in the Montessori method of teaching preschool as well as Kinesthetic teaching. I have an Early Childhood and Elementary Education degree. I have taught in a preschool and elementary school for several years. I have taught in a private Montessori school, in a public elementary school, and have taught preschool out of my home.
You do not have to do homework for this class but you will have all the materials you need to work with your child on letter names and sounds if you would like. I will also include alphabet and number cards that you can use for practice but you do not need for class.
Plastic mat (cutting board or place mat) Play Dough Shaving Cream 2 Sheet Protector Small Toy Car Printouts I will send out before each weeks class. I would recommend putting these things in a tote or a bag because we will use them throughout the week.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The only assessment for this class is asking the student to tell me what the letter and number that we are working on is.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will be using shaving cream to write in. I will give children guidance on how to use it but they will need help cleaning it off of them and the mat. I will do this the last 5 minutes of class so that you can help them clean up once class is done.
