US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 3
This one-on-one tutoring class is designed to meet the needs of students who learn best in an individualized setting or who are "between levels" in other math classes. I use Montessori materials and hands-on games so that learners can experience complex math concepts, like addition, subtraction, geometry, fractions, measurement, and multiplication in meaningful ways. I use a second camera to show my table so that learners have every step modeled and can use their own manipulatives right along with me. Specific plans will be based on an individual learner's goals and progress, but an example of 4 week's of lessons could be: Week of September 26th: Build numbers up to 10 on a 10 frame and with Montessori beads Week of October 3rd: Create a Montessori bead stair Play the snake game to build combinations to make 10 Week of October 10th: Play games to build combinations to make 10 Week of October 17th: Using a 10 frame, solve for missing addends
Learning Goals
Students will gain confidence and numerical fluency as they work with math concepts in a variety of ways.
