In this ongoing preschool math class your child will be introduced to one number, shape, and color a day. We will be making the number out of playdough and counting to the number, as well as making the shape. I will be introducing the color and providing an activity that they can do after class with the color, and we will be making patterns. This class is on ongoing class. By the end of each class I would like the children to know the number, color, and shape they have learned. It is important that these concepts are review with your child so that they are remembered.
I have a dual degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I am a licensed teacher in the state of Utah. I have taught Preschool through 4th grade and have loved every grade. I have taught in the classroom for 8 years and online for 4. Over the past four years I have studied dyslexia and dyscalculia and found research proven ways to teach and help young readers and mathematicians. Making sure your child is ready for kindergarten is a huge step in early intervention.
You will be getting a color activity each lesson that you can do with your child if you would like but it is not required.
Playdough (2 colors) Handouts for class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
My assessments are informal as I watch the students to see how they are grasping what they are learning.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
