Class Experience
This class will use party planning to overview several life skills with students: critical thinking, project management, budget planning and crisis prevention skills that can translate to many other facets of life! Class one: In our first meeting we'll discuss the elements of a good party - food, activities, decorations, etc. I'll also give them a template that they can use to create their own party plan. Students will be able to identify all the components of a party. They will be able to create and manage a budget for a hypothetical party. Students will practice simple addition and subtraction skills and learn money management principles.
I am a veteran in the meeting and events industry with almost 15 years of experience. I have also earned the Certified Meeting Professional Designation from the Events Industry Council.
After session 1, students will need to create a party plan to present during session 2. This can be as minimal or elaborate as they like and should take no more than 30 minutes to one hour.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
