In this 4 week course student's will explore Earth Science with hands on projects, and engaging discussions about various topics related to the Earth.
Class experience
US Grade Kindergarten - 3
-Each week students will cover a different topic in Earth Science. The class structure for the class will involve a presentation and then virtual tour of a new point in Earth Science alongside a discussion section where we will try to ask and answer questions related to the topic. Lastly we will start a hands on project or craft related to that point in time.
Week 1- Rock Cycle and Identification: We will explore the rock cycle and introductory rock identification.
Project:...-Students will learn about the various systems and interactions of the Earth. -Students will develop their critical thinking skills, asking and answering questions about the Earth.
During my time working in Montessori schools I was given the opportunity to design and implement a summer camp program that integrated scientific and cultural exploration with hands-on projects. It was a joy to teach and assist my students as they conquered these previously uncharted territories and I am only too happy to replicate that adventure here on Outschool.
Homework Offered
-Any project that students are incapable of completing within the class time will become homework. The time will vary depending on the learner. -Students will research the answer to questions of personal interest to record in their lab books. This should take between 20-40 mins a week.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
