In this one-time class, the students will hear a story about hands and why hitting hurts. The book will also discuss positive ways hands can be used and encourages students to focus on the use of "helping hands " instead of "hurting hands. Once the story is complete there will be a discussion & extension of knowledge surrounding the topic of helping hands vs hurting hands and why hitting hurts and is not acceptable. Discussions will be facilitated in a fun interactive manner to encourage students to use hands to help instead of hit. We will also discuss the feelings of those that get hurt.
Learning Goals

I have worked with students from the age of 4- 18 years or Kindergarten to Gr 12. I have experience with students in the mainstream class and also students with exceptionalities like ADHD, Autism, LD, MID, Behavioural students & other exceptionalities. Teaching students has always been something I am very passionate about. My teaching style is multifaceted. I believe that there is no clear cut route to teaching and that every student learns differently. I strive to always change my teaching style according to the student's needs to ensure the academic, social & emotional success of each of my students.
I have a deep passion for teaching and love teaching students different ways to unleash their potential. Every student learns differently, and I enjoy taking the time to ensure each of my students is able to reach their full potential.
