Every form of calligraphy starts by creating a letter, and every letter is created by a series of strokes! In this class, we will be breaking down how to write calligraphy lettering stroke by stroke. Additionally, everyone's handwriting is unique, so everyone's hand lettering should be too! We will also be learning how to develop our own unique lettering style by looking at a variety of different ways to write each letter. Free practice worksheets are included! I have been doing hand-lettering freelance for over six years. This includes brush lettering, faux calligraphy, and traditional calligraphy. My particular expertise is in creating home decor signage, card design, and wedding calligraphy.
Homework Offered
Learners may use the skills they learned to write various words and phrases outside of class. Totally optional, but calligraphy is addictive. Don't be surprised if you find sticky notes with fancy grocery lists, random words, and homework assignments. :) Practice makes perfect! Please bring a pen, pencil, and each printable practice worksheet provided. For this class, students can also bring any sort of calligraphy or basic writing utensil to class! If your student has experience using brush pens, they can be useful for this class.
