During this 4-class course, the objective of these group hand drumming lessons is to enable the students to gain a greater set of technical and musical skills on the hand drum, and to help the student develop a greater understanding of the role of the hand drum in a variety of musical genres, all while getting to share with, and grow from, other learners. 
Drumming skills are developed through the repetitive practices of technique and coordination, as well as developing critical listening skills demanded of drummers. 
The lessons will meet the students at their skill level and assess ways in which they can grow as a drummers.

Class 1:
- Intro: Drums In Music
- Parts of the drum
-  How to strike the drum
- Learn Beat #1 & drum fill #1

Class 2:
- The importance of warming up
- Invisible Drums (Warm-up)
- Review Beat #1 
- Learn drum fill #2 & #3
- Simon Says: Drum Edition

Class 3:
- Invisible Drums (Warm-up)
- 8-counts (what is it & how does it help our sense of rhythm)
- The importance of repetition: Musical Endurance
- Learn Beat #2 w/ drum fill #1
- Freeze Dance

Class 4:
- Invisible Drums (Warm-up)
- 8-counts
- Review Beat #2 w/ drum fill #1

Learning Goals
Areas covered include learning beats and patterns then building upon them, rudimental practice, strengthening time playing and developing one’s musical vocabulary.
