Description

Class Experience

1. Students will learn facts about the physical characteristics of Hammerhead Sharks such as size, diet, habitat and characteristics. 
2. Students will learn how scientists use these characteristics to compare and classify a species like Hammerhead Sharks. 
3. Students will learn why conservation of Hammerheads is so important and what is being done to prevent the extinction of this species. 
4. Students will learn new vocabulary words related to the study of the Hammerheads and the ocean habitat.
No homework but your child may be interested in making more drawings or learning more facts about Hammerhead Sharks.

Learner Supply List: 1. Paper (loose paper, sketchpad or notebook is also fine) 2. Art media such as pencils, markers or crayons 3. Print Pack: (attached to the welcome message in the classroom and visible if you are logged in as the LEARNER) Contains two drawing templates to help students draw. Note: A certificate and a Hammerhead Shark fact and vocabulary sheet will be available for download in the classroom after class.
There is not a formal assessment for this class. Students will be learning concepts of science along with the opportunity to develop additional math, geography, vocabulary and creative thinking while learning about Hammerhead Sharks.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
NO scary or violent content here, only scientific facts presented in a positive way to promote learning and discovery. 
NO third-party tools are necessary for this class.
