Description

Class Experience

The goal of this one-time class is to share our love of Hamilton, learn something new about the musical, and practice acting skills and techniques. The games and discussions will develop the important skills of critical thinking, improvisation, active listening, and public speaking.
I am a professional theater director and performer with over 10 years of experience teaching theater to youth of all ages.
Students will be encouraged to stand-up and dance/move while singing along, but it is in no way required.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parents should be aware of the content of the musical Hamilton. We will not be listening to explicit music in this class. That being said, it's important to know that the musical does contain explicit songs.

The non-explicit songs we will be listening to in class may contain references to guns, warfare, and promiscuity, and while officially non-explicit they may still contain language some find controversial.
I suggest students listen to the Hamilton soundtrack or read "Hamilton: The Revolution" to prepare for the sing-alongs and trivia, but it is not required.
