US Grade 3 - 4
In this one time class, students will learn how to write an essay using the “hamburger” method. We will look at a power point that will discuss the parts of an essay. Once we have completed the power point we will then prepare to write our own essay together. Our topic “Why is Summer the best season?” With this method we will begin with writing an introduction. Students will come up with a solid introductory paragraph. We will then do each part of the body of the essay. There will be three different areas for supporting details. Students will be asked why they like Summer. We will then write a solid paragraph for each detail. The last part of the essay we will construct a conclusion paragraph. Using the “hamburger” organizer we will then construct a complete essay. I have over 17 years teaching experience, and have my English/Language Arts Private Academic Certification.

I then taught middle school to high school age English/ Language Arts for 8 1/2 years. After teaching high school English I then taught a kindergarten tutoring class, which specialized in learning the beginning parts of reading. I was employed for 4 years working with the Kindergarten students. Currently, I teach English as a second language over the computer. I am a very energetic and fun teacher! I like to make learning enjoyable. I strongly believe that a classroom that is engaging and upbeat will help a student become successful in what they are learning. I enjoy spending most of my time outdoors playing ball with my children. I have coached softball and helped coach baseball in the past.
