In this class, students will celebrate their love of spooky season by painting Halloween-themed paintings, throughout the month of October! Students are guided step-by-step in creating their paintings, but are encouraged to be creative with color choices, composition, and creating their own style. Using Halloween-themed subject matter, students will practice basic painting techniques such as blending, rendering, texture, and lighting. Each week, I will provide a reference image for students to review before class, which will serve as our template for the painting. During our last session on October 30th, students are encouraged to wear a costume!! We will have a freestyle painting session during this last class, where students will are granted creative freedom to paint a Halloween piece of their choice. PLEASE NOTE; images containing blood, horror, or weaponry will not be allowed. This class is taught at the beginning level of painting, so no drawing or painting experience is necessary. Beginners are welcome!!
Learning Goals
Students will learn basic painting techniques such as priming, blending, mixing, rendering, and creating texture, all while celebrating the month of Halloween! I will be guiding students step by step at the beginning level. By the end of this class, students will gain skills to create acrylic paintings on their own with ease.

Please attend class ready to paint with the following: - 9" x 12" canvas - size 1 - 12 paint brushes for acrylic - water cup - paper towels - painting palette (paper plate or lid will work just fine for this) - red acrylic paint - yellow acrylic paint - blue acrylic paint - black acrylic paint - white acrylic paint - brown acrylic paint - YOUR CREATIVITY!!

Hello everyone, my name is Brittany Lambert and I'm an artist teaching what I love to do.. ART!
I've been an artist most of my life, mainly focusing on drawing and painting. I earned my BA in Art in 2018, and am currently attending graduate school to become a full time art teacher. I currently live in Southern California, where I enjoy some of my favorite hobbies such as going to the beach, hiking, and of course, creating art!
I teach the basics of drawing, painting, and art theory through fun, simple projects that kids can enjoy. My ultimate goal as a teacher is to encourage students to understand how art is so much more than just learning techniques and creating masterpieces. Art is about exploring yourself as an individual and the world as a whole! I teach on Outschool to provide students a creative outlet where they can let loose, have fun, practice their skills, learn A LOT, and put forth their own ideas by expressing their artistic voice.
