Class Experience

Does your child enjoy all things spooky?
In this weekly live class, students will enjoy numerous spooky read a louds and interact with each book via discussions and early literacy activities. We will cover rhyming, beginning sounds, ending sounds, putting sounds together, and letter names. We will also focus on comprehension skills such as main idea, setting, making predictions, inferences, and story retelling. Students will get to interact by playing games and answering questions. This course is recommended for students who have yet to master their letters and other early literacy skills. Students in the very beginning phase of reading may enjoy this course too. The course will begin with a read aloud. We will discuss and focus on comprehension skills as we listen to the story. After the story we will do phonics activities that coordinate with our story theme.
The goal is for them to improve their comprehension, vocabulary, phonemic awareness, and phonics skills while having a spooky good time.

This class will be offered on Wednesdays, Fridays, or Sundays.

Week of October 3rd: "Creepy Pair of Underwear" by Aaron Reynolds. We will identify character, setting, and problem. We will also focus on rhyme recognition, and letter names.
